Start a Divorce in Florida
A divorce legally ends a marriage and allows the court to address issues such as the division of marital property and debts; whether either spouse will receive alimony; whether either spouse wishes to restore a former name; and, if you have children, matters related to parental responsibility, timesharing, child support, and other child-related issues.
Florida provides several different divorce packets depending on your circumstances. This eligibility review will ask you a few questions to determine which packet best fits your situation. It does not file anything with the court. Once you complete this review, the next interview will collect the information needed to prepare the appropriate court forms.
